Mike is turning - gasp - 40 this summer. He is less than thrilled by this. I would really like to have a party or do something special to celebrate the occasion. My dear husband knows how I love to plan everything, and he's thwarting that desire by refusing to commit to anything. He won't even help with a tentative guest list yet to at least give me an idea of how many people he might want to have celebrate with us. I mean, are we talking 10 people and we can all fit on a pontoon boat on the lake, or are we talking 30 people and a bunch of kids so we need to plan for a bigger location? These are all crucial details!
Anyway, Meredith has listened with interest to various party ideas I've suggested, and she's very excited about the prospect of a party for her Daddy. The other night the subject came up again over dinner. Meredith straightened up in her chair and announced: "Daddy I know! You could have a NINJA party!"
Mike did his best to stifle a laugh at the thought of a ninja birthday party. Meredith took his laughter as a positive sign and pressed on: "Daddy, it will be PERFECT. We will have ninjas and margaritas and cupcakes!"
At this point we both burst out laughing at the vision Meredith had created. Ninjas, margaritas and cupcakes. Sure, why not? Meredith was undoubtedly pleased with herself, as she clasped her hands together and said, "That's it. It's settled. This will be the best birthday EVER."
I'm wondering how disappointed she's going to be when Mike's birthday comes and goes without ninjas.
3 people have something to say:
Where is your birthday spirit??? I LOVE the whole cupcake, ninja, margarita theme!! NeNe
Oh Mom! You know if you don't include the children, then you will have to plan a 2nd birthday party! Because the kids are going to want to be a big party of daddy's birthday! Good luck on deciding how to get the ninja theme included in the party! Happy Birthday to Mike!
Thank you for very good blog about Exersaucers. It's very nice.
